What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal Fillers are FDA-approved treatments to restore a loss of volume and smooth out wrinkles and facial lines, which are caused by aging, sun damage, fat loss, heredity, gravity, and muscle action. The dermal fillers used at Your Wellness Center’s MedSpa are comprised of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance already existing in the human body that provides a youthful look through volume and fullness of the skin.
There are 2 steps to the treatment:
- Attend an initial complimentary consultation. Our certified injectors will discuss your desires, the estimated amount of Dermal Filler needed, and provide a general estimate of the treatment cost. They will then work with you to create an individualized treatment plan.
- Get the treatment! With an established plan, our provider will use a fine needle to inject the Dermal Filler into the skin.

What are the Treatment Areas?
The areas that can be injected include the temples, cheeks, lips, under the eyes, and the facial lines that form around the nose and mouth.
What Does the Treatment Feel Like?
There will be minimal to moderate discomfort. Some of the dermal fillers contain lidocaine (an anesthetic), which helps numb the treatment site.
How Long Does One Treatment Take?
The treatment will take less than 30 minutes and requires no downtime.
How Many Treatments are Recommended?
This treatment is temporary and re-treatment typically occurs every 6 months, however, some dermal fillers last up to 2 years.
What Should I Expect After the Treatment? How Long Will it Take to Recover?
These injections produce instant results. The most commonly report side effects include lumps/bumps, redness, tenderness, and swelling at the injection site. Another common side effect is bruising, and Aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications may increase this risk. Temporarily discontinuing these medications ten days prior to the dermal filler injection may help decrease these symptoms.
