Melasma is a gray-brown skin discoloration typically found on the cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin due to sun exposure. Other body parts frequently exposed to the sun, such as forearms, can also develop melasma.
Melasma is also commonly found in women taking oral contraceptives, individuals with brown skin tones, and pregnant women (due to the increased estrogen and progesterone levels). This “Mask of Pregnancy” often fades after pregnancy or when oral contraceptives are stopped, however, medical services are sometimes needed to treat melasma.
We offer a variety of solutions to treat melasma.
